Originally for the 1996 Centennial Summer Olympics, hosted by Atlanta, GA, the stadium hosted hundreds of track and field gold medal hopefuls. After the Olympics and Paralympics the stadium was transformed into Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves. During renovation, the north half of the stadium was demolished to accommodate the requirements of an MLB field.

Known for its successful combination of nostalgic old-time baseball and state of the art entertainment features it is a staple for Atlanta and the MLB. Turner Field has hosted 11 National League Division Series in addition to a World Series, and a Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The stadium also features a monument marking the location of Hank Aaron’s 715th Home Run.
